Aim
To develop the tired existing delicatessen into both a fully functioning specialty pastry and chocolate kitchen and a small cafe with retail displays. Develop an aesthetic that nods to the locality while referencing european influences through the design of a custom carrera marble cooled display counter.
Details
The client envisaged a high end, refined space which welcomed customers and showcased the skills of the patisserie chefs and chocolatiers. A requirement for custom cold displays for their custom chocolates along with a simple layout which encouraged ease of egress and quick access for purchases were at the forefront of the design.
Key contributions
Concept development, material selections, preparation of drawing sets and specification documents for construction. Client meetings, consultant and contractor coordination and site reviews.
